About homecrate

A local music library and studio for iPhone and iPad — built around your taste, your files, and your listening history. The app that asks what you like instead of deciding for you.

Why it exists

Most streaming apps watch what you play and infer who you are. homecrate does the opposite: it plays the music you own, asks you directly what you want (sliders, weather mood, explicit choices), and keeps the AI on your device. No subscription, no ads, no taste profile living on someone else’s server.

It’s for collectors, musicians, and anyone who knows what they want to hear — and wants an algorithm they can tune, not one trained on everyone else’s behavior.

The music player

homecrate is a full-featured library player: FLAC, AAC, MP3, ALAC, imports from Files or Plex, offline playback, liner notes with synced lyrics and verified artist facts, games, a chromatic tuner, and an Algorithm Tuner so discovery, energy, mood, and era reflect what you set — not what was observed.

Apple Intelligence–powered features run on-device. Weather Mood lets you steer the queue with intention. Analytics stay visible to you, not to us.

homecrate Studio (Pro)

Pro is a one-time unlock — not a monthly fee. It adds homecrate Studio: multitrack recording, AUv3 plugins, piano roll and drum sequencer, spatial recording and export, mixdown to your library, video over backing tracks, karaoke mode, Plex sync, neural amp modeling (NAM + IR), and Music Theory AI that can generate playable MIDI. Everything in the free tier is included; Pro layers the DAW and pro-only tools on top.
