About homecrate

A music player and studio for iPhone and iPad. It plays the files you already own, and you tell it what to play next.

Why it exists

Most streaming apps watch what you play, build a profile of you, and use it to guess what you want next. homecrate skips that. It plays the music you own, you steer what happens next (sliders, weather mood, or just picking a track), and the AI runs on your device.

It's for people with opinions: collectors, musicians, anyone who knows what they like and wants a player that does what they say, not what their data suggests.

The music player

homecrate plays FLAC, AAC, MP3, and ALAC, and imports from Files or Plex. Playback works offline. Liner notes come with synced lyrics and artist facts. There are games, a chromatic tuner, and an Algorithm Tuner that makes discovery, energy, mood, and era follow what you set.

The Apple Intelligence features run on-device. Weather Mood steers the queue with the forecast. Your analytics stay on your device.

homecrate Studio (Pro)

Pro is $9.99 once, and it unlocks homecrate Studio: multitrack recording, AUv3 plugins, a piano roll and drum sequencer, spatial recording and export, mixdown to your library, video over backing tracks, karaoke, Plex sync, neural amp modeling with NAM and IR, and a Music Theory AI that writes playable MIDI. The free tier stays as it is. Pro adds the studio on top.

Pricing & privacy

The app is free to download and needs no account. After the one-time Pro purchase, there's nothing else to pay. No subscriptions for app features. Ever.

Your library stays on your device. homecrate doesn't use third-party analytics SDKs, and your data stays yours. The privacy policy covers what the app does and doesn't collect.
