Welcome to homecrate

homecrate is here. We built it because we wanted a music player that respects the way people actually listen to music — locally, intentionally, and without a streaming service deciding what comes next.

Your library, your device

homecrate plays the music you own. FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC — whatever you’ve got. Your files stay on your device. No cloud sync, no uploads, no data collection. Open the app, point it at your library, and press play.

An algorithm that works for you

Most music apps use your listening data to optimize for engagement. homecrate’s algorithm runs entirely on-device using Apple’s Foundation Models. It learns what you like and surfaces music from your collection — not from a catalog designed to keep you subscribed. You can tune it, ask it questions about your library, or ignore it entirely.

A recording studio, too

homecrate Pro includes an 8-track recorder with voice-controlled transport, a NAM-powered amp modeler, MIDI I/O, spatial audio mixing, and a drum machine you can describe beats to in plain language. It’s a full mobile DAW for $9.99, once — no subscription.

What’s next

We’re just getting started. This blog is where we’ll share updates, tips for getting the most out of the app, and the occasional deep dive into how things work under the hood.
