Listening Analytics Dashboard
Homecrate keeps a detailed record of how you actually listen — what you play, what you finish, what you skip and when — and turns it into a dashboard of charts, streaks and achievements. Every event is written to the app’s local database on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account behind any of it.

Opening the Dashboard
Go to Settings → Analytics & Privacy and tap View On-device Analytics.

The dashboard opens as a full sheet. If you haven’t played anything yet you’ll see “No listening data yet” — play some music and come back.
The Hero Card
The top of the dashboard is built from your most-played artist’s album art, blurred behind your headline numbers.

Listening time is real playback time — the milliseconds you actually heard — not the sum of track lengths.
Peak Listening Hour
Below the hero, a single card calls out the hour of the day you start the most tracks, across the last 30 days.
Peak listening at 9 PM
The hour is calculated in your local time zone from the moment each track started.
Minutes by Day of Week
A bar chart of total minutes listened per weekday over the last 90 days. Your heaviest day is highlighted in a brighter colour, and each bar is labelled with its minute count.

Top Tracks · 30 Days
Your five most-played tracks in the last 30 days, ranked by play count and broken by total minutes. Each bar is labelled with its play count (e.g. 12×). Skipped plays don’t count toward this chart.

Top Artists · 30 Days
A donut chart of your five most-played artists, with your #1 artist’s artwork in the centre. Beside it, a legend lists each artist with their artwork thumbnail, play count, and total minutes.

Recently Played
The last 10 tracks you actually listened to — skipped plays are excluded — newest first, with how long you listened to each one.

Music Trivia Stats
If you’ve played at least one round of Music Trivia, a stats card appears showing:
- Games — rounds played
- Avg Score — your correct-answer percentage across all games
- Best — your best single-game score out of 5
- A three-star rating based on your best score, and the date you last played
Achievements
The bottom of the dashboard is a grid of achievement tiles. Unlocked tiles show the date you earned them; locked tiles are dimmed. Achievements are re-evaluated every time you open the dashboard, so they unlock retroactively from data you already have.

Generate AI Summary
The Generate AI Summary button in the hero hands your dashboard numbers to Apple Intelligence and gets back a short, personal write-up: a personality label, a headline, and a few insight lines.

What gets passed to the model:

This runs entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence — the same on-device system that powers Library AI. Your listening data is not sent anywhere to produce it.
Requires Apple Intelligence — iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an M-chip iPad, running iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence enabled. Without it you’ll see “Unable to generate summary — make sure Apple Intelligence is enabled.”
Once generated, the button changes to View My Card ↗, which reopens the card without regenerating it.
Sharing the Card
The card view has a Share Card button that renders the card as an image and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet — save to Photos, post to social, or AirDrop it.
What Gets Recorded
Every time a track starts, Homecrate writes a listening event. When the track ends — naturally, or because you skipped, changed queue, or navigated away — that same event is finalized with the outcome.

How skips are judged
Not every skip counts the same:
- A play is a complete play when you heard 85% or more of it.
- A skip inside the first 25% of a track is treated as a strong signal.
- If you skip again almost immediately after a previous skip, the previous skip is voided — flicking through your library to find something doesn’t stack up penalties against every track you passed.
These distinctions are what the Algorithm Tuner acts on when ranking your shuffle.
Tracks That Don’t Appear
Tracks marked Omit from Songs & recommendations — a checkbox at import time, or a long-press option on an artist — are left out of top tracks, top artists, recently played, day-of-week minutes, peak hour, and total listening time.
You can also wipe history for a specific artist or album: long-press an artist or album card and choose Reset. That deletes every listening event for that artist’s or album’s tracks. See Analytics Settings & Privacy.
Where the Data Goes
Nowhere. The dashboard reads directly from your listening history, held in a local database inside Homecrate’s own storage on your device. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, and no server-side copy.
